About these terms

This website is run by Swarn Hotels LLP, which owns and manages The Grand, 30, G.T. Road, Ushagram, Asansol-713303, West Bengal. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “the hotel” mean Swarn Hotels LLP and The Grand; “you” means anyone who uses this website or books with us.

By using this website or making a booking, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website; you can still book by phone or email.

We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and the version in force when you booked applies to that booking.

Making a booking

This website is not yet connected to the hotel’s reservations system. A booking made here is saved in your browser and gives you a reference number, but it is a request until the hotel confirms it. To confirm, please call reservations on +91 98001 95852 or email info@thegrand.in with your reference.

Tariffs are per room per night in Indian rupees and are shown before GST. GST is added at the rate that applies to the tariff: currently 5% on rooms up to ₹7,500 per night and 18% above that. Extras such as transfers, extra beds and décor attract GST separately.

No payment is taken online. You pay at the hotel, by card, UPI or cash, when you check out. The hotel may ask for an advance for some dates or for large bookings, and will tell you before it does.

Rates and rooms are subject to availability until confirmed. Promotional codes and offers carry their own conditions, which are shown with each offer.

Each room type sleeps a set number of guests, shown when you book. One extra bed per room can be added for a charge. For more than five rooms, or a block of rooms for a wedding party, please book through our reservations team.

Please give accurate details when you book. The name on the booking should match the photo ID of the guest checking in.

Cancellation and refunds

48hours before check-in

Free cancellation until 48 hours before check-in. After that, or if you don’t arrive, the first night’s tariff is charged.

The 48-hour period is counted back from 12:00 on your arrival date. To cancel or change a booking, use the Manage booking page on the device you booked from, or call reservations on +91 98001 95852.

If you leave earlier than planned, please tell the front desk as soon as you can. Nights already used are charged in full; any other charge for a shortened stay depends on the rate you booked and will be explained at the desk.

Our aim is that you leave satisfied. If something about your stay falls short, please tell the duty manager while you are with us so we can put it right. If a complaint is genuine and verified, we will consider a full or partial refund of the charge concerned.

Where a refund is due, it is made to the original method of payment: card payments are refunded to the same card, and UPI or other online payments to the same account. Refunds are usually processed within 7 to 10 working days of approval, though your bank may take longer to show them.

If the hotel has to cancel your booking for reasons within its control, we will refund any advance you have paid in full. Banquet and event bookings follow the payment and cancellation terms in the event agreement signed with our sales team.

Check-in, check-out and ID

Check-in is from 12:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Reception is open 24 hours.

Early check-in and late check-out depend on availability. You can add either as an extra when you book, or ask reception on the day; a charge applies.

As Indian law and local police regulations require, every guest must show a valid government-issued photo ID at check-in, such as an Aadhaar card, passport, driving licence or voter ID card. Guests from outside India must show their passport and a valid visa, and the hotel submits the registration details the law requires to the authorities.

The hotel may refuse check-in to any guest who cannot show valid ID. In that case the booking is treated as a no-show.

House rules

  • The swimming pool on the 2nd floor and the gym on the 3rd floor are for hotel guests only. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the pool and the gym at all times.
  • Smoking is not permitted in public areas of the hotel. Please ask reception about rooms and areas where smoking is allowed.
  • Alcohol is served in the Mercury lounge bar and through in-room dining only to guests of legal drinking age, in line with West Bengal’s excise rules.
  • Visitors to guest rooms must be registered at reception.
  • Pets are not permitted in the hotel.
  • Guests are responsible for any damage to hotel property caused by them or their visitors, and may be charged for repairs or replacement.
  • The hotel may ask a guest to leave, without refund, if their conduct puts other guests or staff at risk or seriously disturbs them.

Banquets and events

An enquiry sent through this website does not reserve a venue. Banquet and event bookings are confirmed only by a written agreement with our sales team, which sets out the menu, numbers, payment schedule and cancellation terms for your event.

Sky-View is an open-air venue. Please agree a plan for bad weather with our sales team when you book it.

Governing law
